Zoonose :
Il s'agit d'une maladie qui se transmet naturellement d'un animal à l'homme.
Il existe plusieurs types de zoonoses, classées en fonction du mode de transmission et de l'agent infectant.
Il peut s'agir :
- D'une bactérie comme dans la maladie des griffes du chat.
- D'un virus comme dans la rage
- D'un champignon microscopique comme dans la teigne
- D'un ver parasite comme dans l’échinococcose.
- Du prion comme dans la maladie de la vache folle.

Vu que certains animaux sauvages sont porteurs de maladies infectieuses et contagieuses, qui sont transmissibles à l’homme par simple contact local, il est recommandé à tous et plus prudent de prendre toutes les précautions nécessaires avant de manipuler le gibier.
Tout chasseur consciencieux de son hygiène de vie, doit être muni d’un équipement de protection individuelle, à minima, d’une paire de gants en latex à usage unique et un tube de lotion désinfectante.
Après manipulation d’animaux morts ou lors de la préparation d’un animal, il faut respecter des gestes de prévention simples comme de ne pas porter les mains à la bouche (ne pas fumer, manger et boire) avant de s’être bien lavé et désinfecté les mains.
En cas de découverte douteuse d’un animal mort, ne surtout pas le toucher et prévenir la fédération des chasseurs ou l'agent de développement sur votre U.G., qui alerterons le réseau SAGIR.
